Kmart still plans to emerge from bankruptcy by July target Kmart Corp. lost more money in September than it did in August, but the retailer says it should be able to emerge from bankruptcy protection next July. Troy-based Kmart (NYSE: KM), which filed for Chapter 11 protection Jan. 22, lost $176 million on sales of $1.97 billion in September, according to a report the retailer submitted Oct.
21 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Kmart also issued a news release and said it expects to complete a comprehensive, five-year business plan by the end of the year.
