Daoud donation doubles student's scholarship A spontaneous act of generosity from auto dealer Tarik Daoud made a Wayne State University senior's day on Wednesday. Mary Elizabeth Bloomfield, 20, was on hand at the Crain's Newsmaker of the Year luncheon to receive a $2,000 scholarship presented by Crain's in the name of the 2002 newsmaker, Gov.
Jennifer Granholm. Upon hearing that Bloomfield was a Wayne State student, Daoud, owner of Al Long Ford Inc. in Warren, said he'd match the Crain's award with $2,000 more. Daoud has funded several scholarships at Wayne and is a member of the board of visitors for the School of Business Administration.
