Byline: Ralph Kisiel Johnson Controls Inc. estimates that it can cut in half what it spends to send and receive electronic documents with Covisint L.L.C.'s new messaging service. Johnson Controls, whose Automotive Systems Group is based in Plymouth, has begun testing the service with two other large suppliers - Southfield-based Lear Corp.

and Troy-based Delphi Corp. - and the domestic automakers. If it works as expected, Covisint is to introduce the service to the industry in November.
