Masco gets OK to sell business units Masco Corp. said the Federal Trade Commission has granted an early termination of the waiting period for the sale of two of Masco's companies to Black & Decker Corp. The mandatory waiting period is part of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.

Taylor-based Masco agreed in principle to sell Baldwin Hardware Corp. and Weiser Lock Corp. to Black & Decker last month. Masco and Black & Decker have not agreed on a sale price but announced early this month that they expected to have the deal completed by next March 31 or sooner.
