Porter to take control of health system in Montreal Arthur Porter, who resigned from his position as CEO and president of The Detroit Medical Center in August, has been named executive director of the McGill University Health Center in Montreal. McGill, one of Canada's largest health systems, with an annual operating budget of more than $400 million U.S., said it hired Porter for his "unique blend of medical practice, management and business acumen.'' Porter will begin overseeing McGill's 11,300 employees April 5, after he has had time to improve his French language skills.
