Pricewaterhouse doubles private-business practice.(Special Report)(Brief Article)

Byline: Katie Merx PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. this year doubled the size of its private-business practice in Detroit and put a partner in charge of it. David VanEgmond, PricewaterhouseCoopers' leader for its new private-company services in Detroit, called the new focus on privately held businesses with $50 million to $1 billion in annual revenue a "recommitment'' to a business segment the firm has served all along.
In Detroit, PricewaterhouseCoopers has doubled its practice from three partners to six. In five years, VanEgmond plans to double the size of the private-business practice to an even dozen partners.
