Byline: KEITH CRAIN It's not very often that someone puts up tens of millions of dollars to build a new corporate headquarters within the city of Detroit. Last week, Dick Dauch, chairman and CEO of American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc., invited a group of movers and shakers in Detroit to the formal dedication of their new building on Dauch Drive at Holbrook and I-75.
Dick is a dedicated manufacturing executive with a great work history at General Motors, where he actually worked at the plant where he's now CEO. He was at Volkswagen and later joined Chrysler during its struggles and help to resurrect it.
