Fry Inc. debuts Kmart Web site in midst of merger.(News)

Byline: Andrew Dietderich Kmart Holding Corp.'s latest foray into the $65 billion world of online commerce - lost in the hype surrounding the company's purchase of Sears, Roebuck and Co. - went live Thursday, and an Ann Arbor company is behind it. Fry Inc., a 10-year-old online-commerce company with revenue expected to hit $25 million this year, launched the new Kmart.com Thursday, just in time for the holidays.
Fry designed, built and has a contract to host and maintain Kmart.com. Terms were withheld. Karen Austin, Kmart chief information officer, said the new site offers more merchandise, is easier to navigate and has new features such as the ability to order items from the company's weekly ads.
