Byline: Mary Connelly, Robert Sherefkin Automotive News Johnson Controls Automotive Group in Plymouth is among select suppliers chosen for a Chrysler Group pilot program to get suppliers involved early in product development. Participants also include Toronto-based Intier Automotive Inc.
and Dana Corp. in Toledo, said sources familiar with the plan. According to Chrysler COO Tom LaSorda, the strategy increases the company's focus on collaborative relationships with suppliers. Chrysler isn't revealing details. But the selection of Intier and Johnson Controls suggests that vehicle interiors have a high priority.
