Byline: Brent Snavely Walter Douglas Sr. has handed over the day-to-day operations of Avis Ford Inc. to his son Mark Douglas and also is helping another son, Edmund Douglas, open a Jaguar-Land Rover dealership in Sylvania, Ohio. Douglas, 71, remains chairman of Avis Ford. "I moved out of my office and let Mark move into my office.
I have a small cubbyhole now, and that is enough for me,'' said Walter Douglas, who was in Florida on Friday. Walter Douglas was president of New Detroit Inc. from 1978-85 before he purchased Avis Ford in 1986 with a partner, and currently is chairman of the board for Dearborn based Auto Club Group and is on the board of AAA Michigan Inc.
