Psst ... wanna buy a building? Looking for a downtown office building designed by Minoru Yamasaki and upgraded to post-9-11 security standards? Got $4.5 million? Then the Detroit branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago has the deal at 160 W. Fort St., said Glenn Hansen, bank senior vice president and branch manager.

Construction on the bank's new quarters north of Eastern Market is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 30, Hansen said. By the first of the year, some 200 employees who handle check clearance, currency processing and economic analysis will move to the 17-acre site at 1600 E. Warren Ave. at Russell Street.
