Holman Auto sues over Victory commercials Westland-based Holman Automotive Group Inc., which owns and operates Red Holman Pontiac GMC, filed a lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court in Detroit against Victory Toyota of Plymouth over radio and television ads it says are misleading. Morristown, Tenn.-based Victory Automotive Group purchased the rights to Holman's Toyota dealership from Holman Automotive Group on June 13 and opened it as Victory Toyota on June 14 at 14855 Sheldon Road in Plymouth, said Victory Toyota General Manager Mike Wood.
An Oct. 13 purchase agreement filed with the lawsuit put the purchase price at $3 million. Within a few days of opening, Victory Toyota began airing commercials that said "Red Holman Toyota has been sold and closed...
