Delphi CEO: GM looks closely at aiding supplier.(Delphi Corp)(Robert Steve Miller)(General Motors Corp)

Byline: Terry Kosdrosky A rescue plan for Delphi Corp. looks more likely after former parent General Motors Corp. said last week it's considering financial help for the struggling supplier. "My reading is that it's a very significant change in their approach to Delphi even from a few weeks ago,'' said Delphi CEO Robert "Steve'' Miller.
"You can't make too much out of it, but you can make something out of it.'' Troy-based Delphi (NYSE: DPH) is in talks with GM and the United Auto Workers on how to fix what the company calls its "legacy'' business. These are the plants and employees it inherited when it spun off from GM in 1999. Miller said GM, the UAW and Delphi are all clear on the scope of the problem.
