Telecom rewrite has new rules for wireless.

Byline: Amy Lane A Michigan telecommunications-law rewrite took a sharp turn last week, passing the Senate with new regulations on wireless carriers and required business-call offerings. For consumer interests and competitors to SBC Communications Inc., there were some victories in Senate Bill 754.
"It's a vastly improved bill from what came out of committee,'' said Dave Waymire, spokesman for the Michigan Alliance for Competitive Telecommunications or MiACT, a coalition of competitive local-phone-service providers, and consumer and business interests.
