Victory Toyota must stop Red Holman ads Victory Toyota of Plymouth has to nix TV ads that mention Red Holman Pontiac GMC after U.S. District Judge Lawrence Zatkoff granted an injunction on Oct. 27 sought by Red Holman. Westland-based Holman Automotive Group Inc. sued Victory Toyota, which is owned by Morristown, Tenn.-based Victory Automotive Group, in June.
The lawsuit accuses Victory Toyota of airing TV commercials that said "Red Holman Toyota has been sold and closed forever,'' after Victory purchased the rights to Red Holman's Toyota dealership. Red Holman, still in business as a Pontiac and GMC dealer, argued the ads were misleading and damaging. Attorneys for Victory did not return two phone calls Thursday and Friday.
