Four schools push for minority science, mathematics students.(News)(Brief Article)

Byline: Sherri Begin Four of Michigan's state-funded universities plan to launch a partnership next week to increase the number of underrepresented minority students pursuing a bachelor's degree in science and mathematics. Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University and Western Michigan University will kick off the Michigan Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Jan.

23 at UM's new Detroit office in Orchestra Place. The five-year, $5 million initiative is funded equally by the National Science Foundation and the four universities.
