Byline: Laura Bommarito The Engineering Society of Detroit is presenting an Emergency Preparedness Workshop from 7 a.m. to noon May 23 at the Marriott Centerpoint in Pontiac. The workshop will help businesses develop an emergency plan. The event is sponsored by Crain's Detroit Business.

Featured speakers will be: Lynne Osborne, manager of workplace programs, American Red Cross, Southeastern Michigan; Mike Loper, emergency management specialist, Oakland County Emergency Response & Preparedness; and James Buford, director of Homeland Security, Wayne County. Gary Mach, quality administrator, Harley Ellis Devereaux will facilitate. The cost is $75 for ESD members; $95 for others. To register, visit nstrodl@esd.org.
