Chair's departure doesn't slow down Hispanic Biz Expo; Alliance's leader expects attendance to increase.(Hispanic Business Alliance)

Byline: Sheena Harrison Three months after the departure of its event chairman, the Hispanic Business Alliance says it's on track for this year's Hispanic Business Expo to be the biggest ever. The Detroit-based HBA has secured $250,000 in monetary and in-kind sponsorships, more than enough to cover the event's $230,000 budget, alliance President and Chairman Frederick Feliciano said.

The list includes new sponsors such as Microsoft Corp. and several that have increased their sponsorship levels from last year, such as Comcast Corp. and Meijer Inc. The organization expects 200 companies to register for display booths, up from more than 120 reported last year; and 1,500 attendees, up from 1,000 in 2005.
