No takers on developing part of county park in Trenton No bids were submitted before the July 21 deadline to develop a 42-acre parcel of 162-acre Elizabeth Park, owned by Wayne County in Trenton. The county issued a request for proposals May 12. The park is at West Jefferson and Grosse Ile Parkway and the Detroit River borders it on the east.
Dennis Niemiec, spokesman for Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano and member of a committee to give project recommendations, said there was interest because more than 10 groups of developers, marketers and business owners attended a pre-proposal meeting.
