Comerica to add Calif. branches.(News)(Comerica Bank)(California)(Brief article)

Byline: Tom Henderson Comerica Bank continues its westward expansion with the announcement that it will open 10 new branches in California over the next six months, six in southern California and four in the north. The first of those openings will be in San Ramon in northern California on Tuesday.
From June through August, the bank opened four branches in southern California. When the next round of openings is finished, Comerica will have 70 branches in the state, up from 42 two years ago. Comerica's western market of California and Arizona generated 32 percent of Comerica's net income in the second quarter this year and had assets of $16.6 billion as of June 30.
