DMC, WSU board members meet in dispute.(Detroit Medical Center Inc., Wayne State University)

Byline: Sheena Harrison, Michelle Martinez Board members from The Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University met for the first time on Wednesday to discuss the almost complete breakdown in talks between the two institutions, but it's unclear whether the groups were able to move toward an agreement.
The joint meeting between the Wayne State board of governors and the DMC board of trustees was called for by Crain's Publisher Mary Kramer in an Oct. 16 column and was intended to give both sides an unfiltered view of the conflict. Keith Crain, chairman of Crain Communications Inc., is a member of the DMC board. DMC Chairman Charles O'Brien would not discuss details of Wednesday night's negotiations, which were described as "wide-ranging and spirited''...
