United Way ready to focus funds on three areas.(educational preparedness, economic stability and basic needs)

Byline: Sherri Begin The United Way for Southeastern Michigan's board of directors is expected to vote Thursday on three areas on which the organization will focus its efforts and funding. After spending the past year conducting interviews, focus groups and surveys that asked more than 6,000 people to identify the region's most critical issues, United Way has honed them to three main areas: educational preparedness, economic stability and basic needs, Director of Research Kurt Metzger said.
