The Detroit Investment Fund, the $52 million private capital fund created and funded by Detroit Renaissance Inc. members to provide financing for growing businesses and residential real estate projects, has named Karl Bell senior vice president. Bell, 46, joins to assist the management team in expanding the fund's lending and investment activities in the city, said Matthew Cullen, chairman of the fund.
"Bell's depth of experience in banking and underwriting will assist the DIF team in identifying new opportunities to broaden the fund's portfolio and to support the fund's mission,'' Cullen said. Bell most recently was vice president and senior managing director of the municipals and nonprofit group at Fifth Third Bank, Eastern Michigan in Southfield....
