Group wants Pfizer to spin off Ann Arbor research.(News)

Byline: Sherri Begin A coalition that includes Ann Arbor Spark and university members of the Core Technology Alliance plans to ask Pfizer Inc. to spin off some of its Ann Arbor research rather than move it. "From our perspective, that is a viable option,'' said Michael Finney, president and CEO of Ann Arbor Spark.
"I think it is important for us to ask every question. "We shouldn't take anything off the table until Pfizer says we should take it off the table,'' he said. Wayne State University, a member of the Core Technology Alliance, last week formed a committee to identify ways the university can encourage the spin-offs, preserve its research relationship with Pfizer, offer outplacement assistance and support the company in any other way as it shifts...
