list of 17: see print copy * * * The high-profile tussle between the WSU physicians and The Detroit Medical Center - which ended with a $78 million agreement that took effect Jan. 1 - wasn't the only news the physician organization made in the past year. The group last July announced an affiliation with Oakwood Healthcare Inc., providing it with flexibility - and a sticking point - in negotiations with DMC.

This July the WSU physicians group will begin jointly operating a Troy ambulatory surgery center and orthopedics residency program with Oakwood. The deal helps give Oakwood a bigger footprint in Southeast Michigan without building new hospitals. CAPTION(S): Mentzer
