Odds of getting hired at MGM can be low How is MGM Grand Detroit Casino dealing with the thousands of applications coming in for 1,000 new jobs at its permanent hotel and casino complex scheduled to open by the end of the year? To start with, said Peter Van Dyke, account supervisor at Berg Muirhead & Associates, MGM hired its public-relations firm, Oklahoma-based HR Logic, to develop a Web site for its employment applications process.
Then, MGM took a one-year lease on 25,000 square feet of office space at 600 Woodbridge for an employment and training center, and hired 20 temporary workers to staff what includes a computer lab where math, language and computer skills will be assessed.
