Byline: KEITH CRAIN Just about everybody agrees that we are facing an energy crisis. The magnitude might still be debated, but not many folks will tell you, "Don't worry. We have all the oil we're ever going to need.'' That's simply not true. We might argue about global warming, but everyone I know understands that we will run out of petroleum sooner or later, and we'd better start thinking about it today.
Tony Earley, CEO of DTE Energy Co., is taking the bull by the horns and is trying to spread the gospel about nuclear energy. It can't be a very gratifying task. I have long thought that we have to include nuclear energy in our mix of fuels used to generate power. Because petroleum is a finite resource, it makes sense to prioritize who uses it...
