Growing trend: Malls alter mix to cater to younger shoppers.(H&M Hennes & Mauritz A/S opens its new stores)

Byline: Sheena Harrison Several metro Detroit malls are adding stores that cater to younger shoppers. Swedish clothing retailer H&M opened a 22,000-square-foot store at Great Lakes Crossing last week and plans to open a 22,800-square-foot store at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn on Thursday.
Forever 21 is renovating a 10,000-square-foot space at Oakland Mall in Troy, with plans to open the store by early summer. H&M and Forever 21 are known for selling trendy, affordable fashions, and local malls are hopeful those stores will bring in crowds of younger shoppers.
