GM ad shifts may mean Burnett, McCann changes.(News)

Byline: Bill Shea The local fallout, both good and bad, from General Motors Corp.'s decision to shift its Buick creative work from one metro Detroit ad agency to another will play out over the next three months. Troy-based Leo Burnett Detroit, which just a year ago lost its Cadillac account to a Boston agency, will take over the $122 million Buick account on Oct.
1 from the Birmingham office of McCann-Erickson, which has had the work since the 1950s. GM made the announcement June 27. It's also moving its $261 million GMC account to Leo Burnett from New York-based Lowe Worldwide, also part of the Interpublic Group of Cos. that owns McCann.
