NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Several factors, particularly an increase in business written in workers compensation residual markets, signal a firming in the workers comp marketplace. ``There is definitely a market tightening,'' especially in the residual market, said Peter Burton, senior division executive-state relations with the Boca Raton, Fla.-based National Council on Compensation Insurance.
His comments were made during a presentation at the recent spring quarterly meeting of the National Assn. of Insurance Commissioners' Workers' Compensation Task Force, held March 24-27 in Nashville.
