A recent survey of senior executives of major corporations shows that they're paying increased attention to consumer privacy issues, with a sizable majority identifying reputational risk as the greatest privacy-related exposure their companies face. The survey of Fortune 1000 companies, which was conducted by Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates Inc.

for KPMG L.L.P., also found that although respondents expect the privacy issue to grow in importance, only 52% said their firms currently have a full privacy policy in place. And 55% of those responding said they expect there will be some sort of high-profile litigation against financial service providers over consumer privacy.
