FIFA replaces canceled AXA-led cover; Berkshire steps in to cover World Cup.(Federation Internationale de Football Assn.)(Brief Article)

ZURICH, Switzerland-The governing body for world soccer, the Federation Internationale de Football Assn., has negotiated a new cancellation insurance contract for the 2002 World Cup after the previous insurer terminated its policy. National Indemnity Co., a unit of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., will now cover the 2002 World Cup, to be held next summer in Japan and South Korea.

The program's premium and limits were not disclosed. Earlier this month, AXA Colonia Versicherung A.G. terminated its coverage for the tournament in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
