The days of paper shuffling are over for Bell Canada employees who want details on their total compensation. The Toronto-based telecommunications company has done away with the cumbersome paper statements that gave its 33,000 employees personal information on salaries, pensions and other compensation.
Now, workers can easily access that information by logging on to the company's intranet. Bell Canada's effort has not only made employees' lives easier, it has earned the company an Award of Excellence in the special-project category of the Business Insurance 2001 Employee Benefits Communication Awards competition.
