Pilots' union approves plans to pay COBRA costs of laid-off colleagues.(Brief Article)

Hundreds of the nation's commercial airline pilots who have been furloughed in the wake of the dramatic slowdown in air travel are finding the going smoother in the health insurance market-thanks to the generosity of their fellow pilots. Pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Assn. who work at three airlines-America West Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines-have approved arrangements by which working pilots will pay in full the COBRA health insurance premiums of furloughed pilots for up to a year.
