Senate likely to move on class-action reform.(News)

Byline: MARK A. HOFMANN WASHINGTON-The Senate is likely to vote on class-action reform legislation within the next few weeks, according to one of the bill's chief Democratic backers. In fact, the Class Action Fairness Act-S. 274-will probably reach the Senate floor next week, though debate could begin this week, according to Sen.
Tom Carper, D-Del. With a vote so close, employers cannot afford to relax their efforts to persuade senators to vote for the measure, Sen. Carper told a breakfast gathering at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington last week. Sen.
