Rain proves educational; 28th RIMS Canada Conference.(News)(Brief Article)

VICTORIA, British Columbia-Despite inclement weather, more than 1,000 risk managers and insurance industry exhibitors attended the 28th RIMS Canada Conference. The Canadian arm of the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. sponsored the conference, held Oct. 19-22 in Victoria, British Columbia.
The attention of attendees in seminars addressing risk management issues often drifted as torrential rains pounded the roof of the convention center at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. In some sessions, it became part of the presentation, with risk managers discussing that and other natural catastrophes. Rainfall during the meeting was described as the heaviest in 100 years, with 5.3 inches falling on the British Columbia capital city on one day of the conference....
