Suit seeks drug reimportation; Lawsuit targets prescription drug laws.(News)(Brief Article)

Byline: GLORIA GONZALEZ WASHINGTON-A Chicago couple has filed suit-with the encouragement of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's office-in a bid to force the Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration to allow the reimportation of prescription drugs from Canada.
The suit, which seeks class action status, was filed in Washington federal district court on behalf of Ray and Gaylee Andrews. It asserts that the U.S. Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act violates their 5th Amendment right to privacy by denying them freedom to make personal medical decisions.
