Byline: Roseanne White Geisel As the property/casualty insurance industry kicks off its 2005 legislative game plan, advancing the agenda likely will require a clear message to those standing in the way: the industry's positions are in the national interest. Whether the issue is the extension of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act or legal system reform, those lobbying Congress must make the connection between the industry and the public well-being.
"Most of these issues are really issues that affect the economy and jobs,'' said Carl Parks, senior vp-federal government affairs in Washington for the Property Casualty Insurers Assn. of America.
