Seeking to draw attention to the need to extend the federal Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, Ramani Ayer, chairman and chief executive officer of the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., and a group of executives left the company's Hartford, Conn. headquarters last month and took the issue on the road.
Joined by Robert P. Hartwig, senior vp and chief economist of the Insurance Information Institute, the group engaged in a four-city barnstorming tour of newspaper editorial boards, television and radio stations around the country to explain the issue's urgency and drum up support.
