SAN DIEGO-More than 12,000 human resource professionals attended the 2005 Society for Human Resource Management's annual conference and exposition, held June 19-22 in San Diego. During the meeting, SHRM also welcomed its 200,000th member, Feleciano Mendoza Jr. of Harahan, La., the director of human resources for Jefferson Parish, La.
The professional association, located in Alexandria, Va., has doubled its membership in only seven years. Founded in 1948, SHRM currently has more than 500 affiliated chapters within the United States and members in more than 100 countries.
