XL buys casualty business from Argonaut.(XL America Inc., Argonaut Insurance Co.)(Brief Article)

Byline: ROBERTO CENICEROS STAMFORD, Conn.-XL America Inc. has agreed to buy a substantial portion of Argonaut Insurance Co.'s U.S. risk management book of business. Stamford, Conn.-based XL America, a unit of XL Capital Ltd. in Bermuda, will immediately begin offering quotes to selected Argonaut clients, according to an XL statement.

To ensure a smooth transition during renewals, XL said that Argonaut clients will continue to have access to San Antonio-based Argonaut's claims management and loss control services.
