XL Capital Ltd. has appointed James Veghte to the position of chief executive of reinsurance general operations. Mr. Veghte most recently served as chief operating officer of XL's reinsurance operations and president and chief executive officer of XL Reinsurance America Inc. He will replace Henry Keeling, who will continue as head of XL's Global Business Services unit.
In addition, Sarah Street, who joined XL in 2001 from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., has been named chief investment officer designate to replace Christopher Greetham, who will retire from that post in September.
