Byline: Compiled by Joanne Wojcik One of Chicago's favorite sons, Aon Corp. Executive Chairman Pat Ryan, has been tapped by Mayor Richard Daley to head a committee that will study the feasibility of bringing the Olympic Games to Chicago in 2016. Mr. Ryan's interest in athletics is well documented.
He holds a minority interest in the Chicago Bears and Northwestern University named its football and basketball arenas after Mr. Ryan, who is an alumnus of the Evanston, Ill.-based member of the Big Ten Conference. A spokesman for Aon said Mr. Ryan declined to comment about his appointment.
