AIA launches Web site touting formation of federal charter.(Industry News)(American Insurance Association)(Brief article)

WASHINGTON-The American Insurance Assn. has launched a Web site focusing on national insurance modernization. The Washington-based AIA, which supports legislation that would pro-vide property/casualty insurers the option of being regulated at the federal level, said it designed the site, at www.modernizeinsurancemarkets.org, to be a full-service site for those interested in the creation of a national insurance charter.
The site includes various background documents explaining the issue of an optional federal charter, as well as studies and reports on the subject, current news articles and copies of pending legislation. The site also allows insurance consumers to contact federal lawmakers directly to support federal charter legislation, the AIA said....
