Byline: Meg Fletcher Business flyers are watching the development of a market-driven, government-regulated program to allow pre-screened passengers access to expedited security lanes that get them more quickly through security checkpoints. The U.S. Transportation Safety Administration is currently seeking 10 to 20 airports to test several features of its Registered Traveler program as early as June.
It also plans to have the program operate nationally in 2007, according to an agency statement. The National Business Travel Assn. supports the program because it is designed to provide "strong, effective travel security that does not place unnecessary burdens on travelers,'' especially the 6 million frequent business travelers in the United States, according...
