Byline: JUDY GREENWALD Employers are divided over how to introduce consumer-driven health care plans. Some believe strongly that the best course of action for employer and employee alike is to make the decision to change to a consumer-drive health plan, and then make the change. But many others advocate following an incremental approach by offering consumer-driven health plans, at least initially, as just one plan option.
They believe this gives the employer an opportunity to educate workers on how the plans work. "I don't see a lot that are going straight into it,'' said Helen Darling, president of the National Business Group on Health, a Washington-based employer organization. "It's a big change,'' she said.
