Bar code company sets its sights on Asia. (Zebra Technologies Corp.)

Zebra Technologies also targets small firms Zebra Technologies Corp., a maker of bar code software and hardware, is galloping for Asia, and it's tagged Singapore as the staging point for its market entry. Vernon Hills-based Zebra, a major player in the $3.3-billion worldwide market for bar codes - labels that enable companies to accurately track inventory - already generates about 40% of its sales overseas, primarily in Europe.
Its domestic competitors include Stamford, Conn.-based Pitney Bowes Corp., Litton Industries Inc. in Woodland Hills, Calif., and Western Atlas International Inc. of Houston.
