One of the area's cultural gems is the world-class Field Museum. It's also a precious stone that needs some polishing, if it is to shine in a way that will continue to do the institution, and the area, proud. The Field Museum is hoping that state lawmakers will add to the museum's luster during this General Assembly session by approving $60 million to pay for needed expansion and improvement plans.
