The dynamic red, white and blue logo of USatWork.com reminds Kimberly Bottari daily of the delights-and dangers-of doing business with a fledgling Internet company. With pride, she originally hung a large version of the logo on the wall of her business, Signs by Tomorrow Inc., in Arlington Heights.

USatWork.com management had come to Ms. Bottari last April, saying the company needed signs produced quickly and promising to pay her handsomely. Later that month, however, the Rolling Meadows-based Internet yellow pages service filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
