Milton Harris and six of his University of Chicago colleagues face no small task in lining up a leader for one of the world's most prestigious graduate business programs. Faculty members elected Mr. Harris to head the committee to find a replacement for outgoing Dean Robert Hamada because of his reputation in the field and his leadership ability.

``He's one of these people who everybody in the field knows his name,'' said Robert M.
